12 Day Casablanca Desert Casablanca

DAY 1 Arrival in  Casablanca – Rabat

Pick up at the airport of Casablanca. Visit to the Hassan II mosque then depart for Rabat.Visit of the city of Rabat and its main monuments: the Alcazaba of Oudaias, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and Hassan Tower. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2 Rabat – Meknes – Moulay Idriss – Volubilis – Fes

After breakfast, we will start to turn to Meknes.

We cycle along the path in the Mamora forest before arriving to Meknes, a city that reached its apogee with the Sultan Moulay Ismail. TO 27 km of Meknes is the most important archaeological site of Morocco ” Volubilis “, declared a protected area by UNESCO, which we will visit, as well as the holy city of Moulay Idriss.

We will continue toward Fez.

DAY 3 Visit of the Medina of Fes :

This day we ll make the discovery of the city of Fes, which was for centuries the cultural and religious center of the western Islamic world, and that was declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Its labyrinthine alleys structured by guilds of potters, dyers…and the hustle and bustle of its os people transported centuries back, because it is a medieval city that endures in the simultaneously.1200 years after its foundation.¡ a wonder,

DAY 4 Fes – Ifrane – Middle Atlas – Merzouga :

It’s time for the  Atlas. Not far from Fez we cross by Ifrane, residential center, before arriving at the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas. After crossing we expected Midelt was questioned for a surprising change of scenery: the road crosses the Medioa Atlas and we quickly move into the Great South. The earth becomes barren, with spectacular geological formations and deep valleys, such as the Valley of the Ziz, enormous green spots in the middle of the desert. We will begin to see adobe architecture, palm trees, some distant Kasbahs… we are in the doors of the desert.

We arrived to the impressive sand dunes of Merzouga, After Tea of hospitality, we left our bags in the rooms,

We got on the first dunes that are next to the hostel and take advantage of the sunset.

Dinner and dancing since it is mounted a show of Berber music with drums and castanets.

DAY 5 Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – nomads – Merzouga :

We are already in the desert, breakfast and then arround the Erg Chebbi, extension of sand desert where is the Great Dune of Morocco, of more than 250 meters of altitude, connecting per track with part of the route followed by the old Paris-Dakar, with the mountains bordering Algeria of fund.

Stop at the oasis of Tissardmin and continue until a settlement where nomadic know some secrets of her life and customs.

Stop back in a panoramic point where we can contemplate the Erg Chebbi as a whole.

Stop at Khamlia, primitive people of Mali where we relax with a cup of tea while we enjoyed a small concert of Gnawa spiritual music. Return to the shelter, food and to the 16h we left in a caravan of camels of a hour that will take us to the camp of Haimas, stop in the middle of the road to watch the sunset and stretch your legs before you follow to reach the camp, Tea of hospitality as always.

Dinner and we should use this opportunity to climb up to the large sand dune or simply those who are serca of the camp to see meliones of stars.

DAY 6 Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Gorges of Todra – Valley of the Roses :

We woke up before dawn to watch the sunrise. Return to the Lodge in dromedary, shower and breakfast,

Departure to Rissani, visit of your market that is the most important part of the south, where van all nomads in the desert to make their comprasluego we depart for Erfoud where we visit the fossilized marble factory and continue toward the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad.

We will arrive at one of the strengths of the South: The Gorges of Todra.

The Todra River has formed a gorge with vertical walls of enormous proportions and of great beauty; it is a paradise for climbers and a unique place. Lunch at the site and a walk of half an hour to see the gorges with tranquillity,

In the afternoon we continue toward the valley of the Boumalne dades through. Dinner and night in the grooves of the Dades.

DAY 7 Valley of the Roses  – Palm Grove of Skoura – Ouarzazate :

After breakfast, we went up to see the Gorges from above and turn toward the Dades Valley and when we arrived to the Kasbah of Aït Youl where we took a detour to the right along a track that allows us admire wild landscapes and least known, where we visit a family that still lives in caves in the Valley of Boutagrar, continue through the Valley of the Roses to bring El Kelaa M’gouna. Lunch in the village, then continued to the palm grove of Skoura, to arrive after to Ouarzazate, Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.

DAY 8 Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Telouat – High Atlas – Marrakech :

After breakfast, the morning is dedicated to the visit of Ouarzazate: kasbah of Taourirt, kasbah of  Tifoultoute, film studios.

Then exit to the fortified town of Ait Ben Haddou, where we’ll visit the famous Kasbah ( declared a world heritage site by UNESCO).  In this spectacular framework have been filmed movies of both renowned as Gladiator, Obelix, Sahara with Penelope Cruz or Jewel of the Nile,Lunch at the site and travel to Marrakech via the highest port of Tizi N’ Tichka,

Free time to discover the famous Jemaa El Fna Square dinner there.

DAY 9 Visit of Marrakech :

Breakfast. In the morning visit of the city in which we highlight the Menara Gardens, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, Majorelle Gardens, the Kutubia impressive Mosque with its famous Minaret built by the Almohads.

Lunch and afternoon free to enjoy the charm of the Jamaa El Fna Square,

DAY 10 Marrakech – Essaouira:

We depart from Marrakesh to Essaouira, formerly known under the name of Mogador Essaouira has lived the step of many peoples, from the Romans to the portuguese, without forgetting the Arabs and Berbers. Because of this  history, saves countless vestiges of these peoples, either in the form of monuments, or in the customs of their people.

We will admire your Medina and the Portuguese fortifications of the eighteenth century. Essaouira is known with its artists devoted to the fabaceae, the harbor, the islands…

DAY 11 Essaouira – Safi – El Jadida – Casablanca:

Way to Casablanca by the coast and go enjoy a landscape of beautiful beaches and virgin. Until you get to El Jadida where we will have lunch before continuing to Casablanca, Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.

DAY 12 Casablanca – Airport:

Breakfast and transfer to the Airport according to the flight schedule  . End of the trip
